I sat and watched the clouds today. they were beautiful— pure, free & ever-evolving. they moved & shifted constantly, but somehow, they seemed to always stick together. the winds blew, but their bond was unbreakable. I got distracted with life & stopped staring at the sky & before I knew it, a lot of time went by. but by the time I looked back up, the clouds were scattered. they were like distant strangers, like soulmates that loved too hard. it was inevitable, though, because the winds blew too strong for too long, & although the original plan may have been togetherness, in the end, they must have realized it was easier to drift. everything about them— from their beauty to their destiny— reminded me of you.
